Farming Practices, Sustainable Methods
This week’s forecast called for cooler temperatures, a high of about 75 degrees, with some cloud cover that lets the vines relax a little before the home stretch.
Our vineyard consultant is happy with what he sees out there: “I’m very pleased with what I see.” Merlot, some Cabernet, and Syrah are approaching veraison, the point where the grapes change from green to purple. We expect harvest to begin in late August, with Sauvignon Blanc continuing through mid-October.
COVID-19 has certainly changed things for us this year, but it’s also opened up new ways to connect with all of you.
In the meantime, two wines I’ve been enjoying: our 2015 Malibu Coast Cabernet Sauvignon, delicious and earthy but rich with bright fruit undertones (only seven cases left), and our 2019 Estate Rosé.
Find both in the wine shop while they last.
