Wine Club Terms & Conditions

General

There is no membership fee. AJA Vineyards Wine Club members commit to receiving at least two shipments (three for Alec’s Club) of AJA Vineyards wines per year. One membership includes benefits for two people. Members (or gift recipients) must be twenty-one years of age or older, and understand that an adult signature is required upon delivery, packages won’t be left at the door.

Membership and benefits

Wine Club members must be current US residents. AJA Vineyards does not ship to certain states, and these are subject to change, visit our shipping policy for up-to-date information. If a member’s home state becomes a non-ship state, they’ll be notified and their membership and any open cart will either be terminated upon request or made ready for pickup.

Wine Club members receive two or three wine shipments per year, delivered to a home or business address of their choosing. Members receive the discounts listed on the Wine Club page, which vary by club, extending to additional purchases from the website once the member’s credit card is on file. The discount is applied by entering the promotion code at checkout.

Each account holds up to two members. Other benefits include priority access to Wine Club member events, cocktail parties, dinner parties, and special tastings among them. Members must be active and in good standing to take part in membership benefits, and discounts are exclusive to the person(s) named on the account unless otherwise approved by an owner.

Shipments

Wine Club members commit to two or three shipments of AJA Vineyards wines per year, starting from their initial membership date, the date they signed up. A new member is considered active after signing up, creating an account, putting an active credit card on file, and completing purchase of their first shipment. Discounts don’t apply until a member is considered active.

AJA Vineyards only ships during the cooler months to avoid heat damage. Allocations are made available or shipped out in April, October, and January. For pickup allocations, members must collect their wine no more than 90 days after the allocation release, after which the reserved wines may be restocked and substituted at pickup with selections of equal or lesser value.

Allocation pickup authorization

Wine club allocations must be picked up by a member listed on the account. If someone else will be picking up your allocation, please provide our team with the following in writing or by email to info@ajavineyards.com prior to pickup:

• Full name
• Date of birth
• Expected pickup date

The authorized pickup person must present valid identification at pickup. Allocations cannot be released to anyone who has not been designated in advance.

Costs

Each shipment’s price is calculated from the actual cost of content and freight, and charged automatically to the member’s credit card on file. Members are responsible for all costs incurred if a shipment is returned to the winery, reshipped, or not picked up.

Wine allocations are customizable. Customization requests are sent one month before the shipment, and members have two weeks to make changes online or in store. Once credit cards are charged for a shipment, customizations and changes are no longer accepted.

Returning or rerouting packages

Generally, three delivery attempts are made before a package is considered undeliverable and returned to the winery. When a package is returned or rerouted to a new address, the member is charged a fee to cover the incurred carrier charges.

Members are encouraged to avoid this by ensuring shipments are delivered somewhere an adult over twenty-one is available to sign, or by having the package held at the carrier’s closest center for pickup. If a delivery attempt is missed, a package can be rerouted to an alternate address by emailing info@ajavineyards.com or calling the Wine Club team at (310) 929-7828.

Billing

Wine Club shipments are billed to each member’s credit card on file two weeks prior to the shipment date. An email is sent ahead of billing announcing the approximate charge date and the planned ship date.

Returns and exchanges

AJA Vineyards is unable to accept returns on wines included in Wine Club shipments due to legal constraints. Exchanges will be considered in the rare case of a flawed product or shipping damage: where available, the damaged bottle will be replaced with the same wine, otherwise with one of the same or similar value.

Membership termination

If a member is not in good standing, AJA Vineyards has the right to terminate their membership at any point in the yearly cycle without notification.

Membership cancellation

Members who have received at least three shipments may cancel their subscription. Members who cancel before three shipments have gone out are responsible for charges owed on outstanding shipments, event RSVPs, and purchased items.

Cancellation requests must be received at least thirty days prior to the release of the upcoming shipment, and can be submitted through the member’s online account, by emailing info@ajavineyards.com, or by mail (received thirty days prior to the upcoming shipment) to 1417-C 2nd Street, Santa Monica, CA 90401.
