Proprietor’s Blog 11/30 Holiday Shopping
It’s that time of year again where we can prepare for the holidays! We’re excited to present some wonderful gift options this year. Whether it’s for your sister, brother, mother, father, uncle, or cousin, AJA has you covered (okay, maybe not your cat).
What’s New?
We have fabulous new recycled candles made from actual AJA bottles, keeping up our sustainability efforts while giving back to the earth that produces such wonderful fruit for us. These candles are made right here in Los Angeles by another small business, and we love working with local companies like this one.
Choose from our Syrah candle, scented with vanilla, or our Sauvignon Blanc candle, scented with persimmon and citron. Both were chosen to mirror an element of each wine: the bright, zesty persimmon and citron for the Sauvignon Blanc, and vanilla for the oak barrels the Syrah rests in for 18 months before bottling. Even though those barrels are mostly neutral, you can still catch a kiss of vanilla on the nose. The candles are made from 100% soy and coconut wax.
We’ve also got our latest release wines: the 2019 Miracle Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon and the 2021 Happy Canyon Sauvignon Blanc. The Sauvignon Blanc has been flying off the shelves, and we’re thrilled to offer a delicious wine at just $25 a bottle, an easy addition to any holiday basket, party lineup, or dinner table, with the perfect amount of brightness and zest: clean, crisp, and refreshing. The 2019 Cabernet has been blowing people away too, unlike anything we’ve made before: soft yet emboldened, supple and scrumptious but not overbearing, with layers of complexity that showcase the rich history of the soil.
Almost Gone!
We’ve only got a few cases left of some fan favorites, including our 2021 Sauvignon Blanc from Eds’ Vineyard, our 2021 Wildflower Rosé, and the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon. Grab them while you can, they make the perfect holiday trio.
Winery Happenings
Harvest is done, and the wines are finishing up malolactic fermentation, which is imperative for giving our reds that silky texture. Our team tasted through the wines this week to check how they’re coming along, and everything’s moving right on schedule. We’ve scheduled blending sessions for late January or early February, with bottling hopefully to follow shortly after. We’ve got some new wines coming this year, and I’m excited to share them with you.
