Proprietor’s Blog 8/31 Harvest is here!
We’re so excited that harvest season is upon us. This past Monday we harvested our 2022 Sauvignon Blanc from Eds’ Vineyard. We ended up with 2.2 tons, five times the amount from last year. We had so much wine that we had to do some barrel fermentation or our tank was going to overflow. Exciting stuff happening at the winery.
Our phenomenal team of winemakers and our awesome viticulture team really came together on this one.
We’ve also started testing our red fruit for the year, and we’re getting great sugar readings for where we are in the season. We’ll likely pick those grapes toward the end of this month and into October.
Friday I’m heading up to visit our sourcing vineyards. As you all know, I’m very hands-on in the winery, and my goal is to make sure the wine continues to follow what inspired me to get into the wine industry, with our winemaking team helping bring my ideas to life. So I’ll be heading up the California coast to visit our sourcing vineyards in Santa Barbara, Edna Valley, and Paso Robles. I’ll post pictures on our social channels, so be sure to follow along.
Harvest season also means we’re prepping for a new wine club shipment. If you haven’t joined our club, you’ll love being a member: we offer private tastings and tours for free on property, as well as wine pairing tasting experiences, and members get between 15 and 20% off their allocations and other wines purchased on our website. For more information on how to sign up, visit our wine club page.
We hope you’re drinking some tasty AJA wines this week. And if you don’t have enough in the cellar, our delivery is quick, especially in California.
Cheers,
Amanda Greenbaum, Proprietor
